Researchers at The UWI Mona have achieved a significant breakthrough in the fight against breast cancer.

The UWI Mona is thrilled to announce that Dr. Simone Badal, Senior Lecturer and Anticancer Researcher,  has been selected among 25 scientists worldwide for the inaugural Rising Scholars: Breast Cancer programme.

The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at The University of the West Indies, Mona, recently hosted the 29th Mona Symposium on Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry from January 3 to 6, 2024.

The UWI Mona, through the Department of Life Sciences in the Faculty of Science and Technology, and European fertiliser brand, Biobizz World Wide Organics (Biobizz WWO), have embarked on a research project to restore soil fertility and promote sustainable agriculture in Nine Mile, St. Ann.

The region's 8th Global Reggae Conference (#GRC2024) hosted by the Institute of Caribbean Studies and the Reggae Studies Unit at The University of the West Indies kicked off on Wednesday, February 14.
