The Office Manager in the Secretariat
is responsible for ensuring that the designated facilities
and office equipment are efficiently maintained, and office
supplies are adequately stocked.
She liaises with her counterparts on the Cave Hill and St.
Augustine campuses in dealing with matters of cross campus
integration.
The Chancellor - The Office Manager in the
Secretariat liaises with the Chancellor and is responsible
for making his travel arrangements and accommodation. She
also ensures his smooth passage into and out of the island.
Robing
The Office Manager is responsible to robe the Chancellor
and the Campus Council Chairman on special occasions.
Travel on University Business - The Office
Manager makes travel arrangements and requests subsistence
for members of the University community who are required to
attend meetings, participate in examinations and attend College
Fairs on behalf of the University, as well as arrange for
accommodation and ensure that ground transportation is provided.
Some of these meetings include, Campus Council, University
Council, University Strategy Committee, Joint Committee of
Council and Senate, Committee of Deans, Board for Undergraduate
Studies, University Archives, University Appointments Committee,
Finance & General Purposes Committee, Board for Graduate
Studies and Research and other ad hoc committees.
Ordering of Supplies - The Office Manager
orders office supplies, furniture and equipment for the Secretariat
and the Attendants’ Lodge, Registry/Bursary Kitchen
and Council Room and arranges to have floral arrangements/decorations
provided for Graduation ceremonies and meetings. She keeps
track of when supplies are low and makes sure goods are ordered
before they run out.
Event Planning/Coordinating - The Office
Manager is responsible for the planningand coordination of
social functions.
Facilities Maintenance - The Office Manager
is responsible to arrange for the maintenance of certain areas
- the Council Room, the Registry/Bursary Kitchen, the Attendants’
Lodge, the Secretariat; the contracting of workmen, etc.
