UARMP Objectives
|
The UARMP has the following objectives:
- Increase economies and improve efficiency in the overall management
of University Records;
- Deliver a full range of coordinated and consistent cross campus
archives and records management services that meet the needs of
the University;
- Ensure the inactive and closed University Records are properly
maintained and accessible as long as they have administrative,
operational, financial or legal value;
- Ensure that University Records are systematically destroyed
once they are no longer of any value;
- Ensure that University Records of enduring or permanent value
are systematically transferred to the Archives;
- Preserve, arrange, describe and make available for research
and reference those University Records of enduring value and thereby
serve as the custodian of the University's documentary heritage
and the corporate memory of the institution;
- Ensure that archival and records management implications and
considerations are taken into account in the design, development
and operation of policies, procedures and systems that have an
impact on managing recorded information and documenting activities
in the University;
- Ensure, to the greatest extent possible, that all aspects of
the Programme are integrated and standardized;
- Participate in and contribute to the regional archives and
records management community;
