The Archives and Records Management
Program provides records management support and advice in a number
of areas as follows:
- Instructions on why and how to conduct inventories of records.
- Assistance in the creation and implementation of records retention
and disposition authorities
- Suggestions on new, more efficient filing equipment, if the
existing equipment is inadequate.
- Aid in effective space utilization and control of records.
- Training for staff in records management skills and techniques.
- Advice on how and when records/non-records should be disposed
- Assistance in the development and documentation of policies
and procedures.
- Determination of future space needs for records.
- Development of file classification plans so as to improve the
management of records.
