The Masters in International Trade Policy (MITP) is a unique programme offering
comprehensive training in critical areas of trade policy theory
and practice, with the context of Caribbean needs and realities.
It will be delivered in collaboration with international trade policy
and law. The programme will consist of a 9 month academic component
and a six month attachment in an OECS member state or other CARICOM
country for applicants supported by other CARICOM governments.
Target Group: Preference will be given to candidates with a background
in trade or who are presently employed in region on behalf of either
government, private sector or NGO entities involved in international
trade negotiations.

Requirements for Admission
Applicants to the programme must satisfy the General University
Requirement governing admissions to a Higher Degree and must normally
possess at least a lower second class honours degree or its equivalent.
Candidates with pass degrees will normally be considered for entry
into Masters Programmes no sooner than two (2) years after completion
of the undergraduate degree.
Applicants who are not graduates of the University of the West
Indies must request their Universities to forward transcripts directly
to the Assistant Registrar, Admissions, Cave Hill Campus at the
address listed above.
All applicants must ensure that references submitted on their behalf
are also sent to the address indicted above, as applications will
not be considered without the relevant documents.
Scholarship Support
A limited number of full scholarships will be made available to
successful applicants by the OAS through the Department of Scholarships
and Training. Awards will be made under the terms and conditions
governing OAS scholarships and include the requirement to work for
the Caribbean region for a period of no less than two years after
completion of the Masters.
