The Functions of the Unit

  • Operations - Web Servers, Email Servers, List Servers, FTP Servers, NT Servers, Internet Link, Backbone Network, Monitoring Modem pool.
  • Networking design and installation, Campus fiber backbone, Faculty Networks, Deparmental LANs.
  • Configuration of machines - UNIX, Windows 2000, PC's.

This unit takes responsibility for – computer hardware, campus data network infrastructure, communications wiring for data, Internet services. In addition it has recently become responsible for the provisioning, maintain and support of all voice systems, including the supporting network infrastructure.
