- Ensuring proper stewardship of the university’s financial resources
- Financial Risk management
- Capital improvement planning
- implementing workable solutions relating to income generation
- Monitoring capital budgets
- Executing the prescribed U.W.I. financial reporting and budget control systems
Departmental Human Resources Function
- Understanding and apprising staff of the various policies relating to paid and unpaid leave and benefits programs at the university as necessary
- Processes requests for leave and benefits such as study and travel, vacation and sick leave in conjunction with the Human Resources department and Pensions and Staff Benefits.
- Processes requests for refunds of training upon staff members’ successful completion of certification programmes
- Manages the Skillsoft online Learning systems. In this regard, the representative from the Office of the CIO manages the activation and deactivation of the persons enrolled in the programme, generates reports on programme usage, formulates learning paths through interactions with the staff member, managers within other units, provides feedback to Skillsoft International on possible improvements that may be made to ensure the programme’s success etc.
Events Planning/ Management
- Planning seminars, meetings, team building events
- Requesting budgetary approval and funding as needed
- Identifying locations/venues and transportation as well as planning team members
- Provision of accommodations as necessary
- Advising and reminding staff as necessary
