Dr. Garraway is an entomologist whose research has focused on the conservation of the endangered giant swallowtail butterfly, Papilio homerus, as well as the Caribbean Manatee Trichechus manatus. He has conducted studies on the taxonomy and biodiversity of Jamaica’s insect population and carried out morphological studies of the millipede. Pest ecology projects include the control of the yam weevil and the ecology of the banana scarring moth Pyroderces releyi, the brown citrus aphid Toxoptera citricidus and the citrus leaf miner Phyllocnistis citrella.
