Wendy Lee is an environmental educator and the Executive
Director of St. Ann Environment Protection Association.
She has designed and implemented environmental education
programmes for government agencies, educational institutions,
and non-governmental organisations since 1989, and co-authored
numerous publications including environmental education
training manuals, textbook chapters, slide kits, and
videos. As a tourism consultant she has conducted research
for national and international agencies on economic
and environmental benefits of ecotourism development
in Jamaica and advised hotels on ‘greening’
their operations. Her volunteer work includes education
and assistance to community-based organisations in the
areas of waste management, wildlife conservation and
community tourism development. She also operates the
Seven Oaks Sanctuary for Wildlife, which rescues and
cares for protected species of wildlife such as endangered
Jamaican parrots and snakes.
Wendy Lee has a BA in Anthropology from Louisiana State University
and a Master’s Degree in Latin American Studies from
the University of Florida.
