Sports

We have devoured the Chancellor Lions, extinguished the Irvine Torch, done away with the Taylor Pelicans and Seacole Peliducks, and thank to us, the T-Rexans are simply extinct! Who are we? The A.Z. Preston Sharks! Preston Hall has maintained a high standard at the University of the West Indies within the sports arena. The success of the sports program has truly reflected in the exceptional performance of Preston’s athletes over the years. Our athletes have set a number of Intramural records, including, the 1998 high jump and discus throwing records; a mere three years after the hall’s establishment. In fact, every year, the hall’s sports status continues to soar. In the 2006/2007 academic year alone, Preston has appeared in the top three in seven out of the twelve Interhall Sports including track and field, volleyball, cricket and swimming. In addition to these achievements, many of our athletes were chosen among countless other University champions to represent the Mona Campus at the Intercampus Games 2007 in sports such as football, volleyball, netball and track and field.

Now, the spotlight is on you! It is your time to prove that you can become a Preston shark! Ok. So, you’re not Asafa Powell, Veronica Campbell, Marion Jones or Brian Lara. You can still make a significant contribution to the Preston sports program!
