Modern and Pleistocene Beach
Systems in Southeastern Jamaica
The study involves a determination of the architecture
of the modern beach systems in relation to active drainage systems;
investigate the important processes which form specific facies in
the modern environment; determine the formation and preservation
potential of modern facies and relate these to modern processes;
determine the stratigraphy of sections through Plio-Pleistocene
beach systems; and eventually use the information collected on the
modern and Plio-Pleistocene systems to generate a model in order
to determine coastline behaviour for future time periods
