DEPARTMENTAL GOVERNANCE AND
STUDENT PARTICIPATION
The Department is run by the Head, in consultation
with the full-time members of the Academic staff and elected
student representatives, two from each level or year. Major
decisions on departmental policy are taken at Departmental
meetings attended by full-time academic staff and student
representatives. Course representatives are encouraged to
raise questions and make suggestions towards improvement of
teacher-student interaction, quality of teaching etc.
Any matter may be brought up at the Departmental Meetings
for consideration and action. Students should brief their course
representatives on matters they wish to have aired.
An Administrative Assistant, a Senior Secretary
and a Senior Clerk carry out the
day-to-day running of the Department office. The
Department office is located in room 16, above the faculty
office, on the first floor of the Old Arts Block, Faculty
of Arts and Education. |
