    Profile
Aruba, located south of the Caribbean Hurricane belt, is spared much of the
worst weather of the Hurricane season, which makes it a popular tourist destination. It is however not entirely safe from Hurricanes, such as Hurricane Hazel (1954) which caused extensive damage to local infrastructure. Periodic droughts and earthquakes are also a hazard of the island.

    Government Strategies

Modeled after the Dutch model of Disaster Management, with the Fire Department Acting as the primary agency in charge in the event of disaster.

Internationally, served by UNDP office in Trinidad and Tobago.
